Pilot Project Successfully Completed: Workshop "The Freight Wagon Alphabet"

On May 21 and 22, 2025, our two-day maintenance workshop “The Freight Wagon Alphabet” took place at Franz Kaminski Waggonbau GmbH in Hameln – a joint pilot project with the Cargo Rail Service Center e.V. (CRSC).

The workshop was offered exclusively and free of charge to CRSC members. The goal was to provide participants – both with and without prior knowledge – with practical insights into the fundamentals of freight wagon maintenance. With success!

Workshop Topics:

• Running characteristics of rail vehicles
• Clearance profiles & restriction criteria
• Use & calibration of measuring instruments
• Measurement on wheelsets, bogies and vehicle structures

The workshop was actively attended and enriched by a diverse mix of beginners and experienced professionals. In addition to the technical input, there was plenty of opportunity for exchange – for example, during the shared dinner.
