Partial Training for Certified Freight Wagon Brake Maintainers I

Here you will find our course offerings for this training program.

Training Content

The training provides a solid theoretical and practical education covering the following topics:

  1. Basics of Brake Technology: Introduction to the fundamental principles of brake technology and its significance for the safe operation of freight wagons.
  2. Physical Fundamentals: Understanding the physical forces and laws that act on the brakes, and their impact on function and safety.
  3. Mechanical Brake Components: Detailed examination of the mechanical components of brake systems, including their functions and maintenance.
  4. Pneumatic Brake Components: Study of the pneumatic parts of braking systems, such as air pipes and valves, and their role in the overall system.
  5. Direct and Indirect Brake Systems: Comparison and analysis of the various brake systems used in freight wagons, including their specific applications.
  6. The Three-Pressure System: In-depth explanation of the three-pressure system and its operation in the context of brake control and safety.
  7. Brake Markings: Explanation of the importance and application of brake markings used for the identification and classification of brake systems.
  8. Relevant Regulations: Overview of the relevant regulations and standards governing the maintenance and inspection of freight wagon brakes.
  9. Br0 Deadlines and Scope: Information on the timing requirements and scope of brake revisions (Br0) according to legal and operational standards.
  10. Br0 in Mobile Maintenance: Specific requirements and challenges associated with conducting brake revisions within mobile maintenance operations.

Practical Training

To effectively deepen and apply the theoretical knowledge, the training includes approximately 40% practical exercises. This hands-on training takes place directly on various freight wagons, as well as on removed wheelsets or bogies. Participants will have the opportunity to practice under real conditions and apply the knowledge they have acquired.

Brake Inspections and Revisions

Upon successful completion of the training and passing the exam, participants will be qualified to conduct brake inspections and revisions (Br0). They will thus become certified maintainers who play a crucial role in ensuring the operational safety of freight wagons.

We are confident that this training will significantly enhance your technical expertise and prepare you optimally for your future tasks.

Additonal or different topics are possible by arrangement.
