Drawgear and Buffers
Would you like to gain or deepen your knowledge of the traction and buffer equipment of freight wagons? This seminar provides a comprehensive overview of the design, function, and safety aspects of these critical systems in rail freight transport.
Training contents:
- Functions of the traction and buffer equipment – Importance for force transmission, safety, and ride behavior.
- Different types of buffers and their design – Comparison of standard and special buffer types.
- Components of the traction device – Structure and function of draw hooks, draw hook brackets, coupling systems, and more.
- Various types of energy absorption devices – Techniques for absorbing impact energy and minimizing damage.
- Limit dimensions and measuring tools – Compliance with standards and proper use of test equipment.
- Damages and defects – Recognizing typical faults and their impact on operational safety.
- VPI EMG 06 and AVV Annex 10 – Relevant regulations and their practical application.
For practical consolidation of the topics, the seminar will include approx. 40% practical training directly on various freight wagons.
