Partial Training as a Qualified Maintenance Technician for Freight Wagon Brakes II
Do you want to take your expertise as a freight wagon brake maintainer to the next level? In this training course, you will gain comprehensive knowledge about the design, function, and maintenance of brake systems on freight wagons – including authorization to perform brake inspections and brake revisions Br 0 to Br 3.
Training contents:
- Fundamentals of braking technology – Structure and function of brake systems in rail freight transport.
- Physical fundamentals – Braking forces, friction, and technical correlations.
- Mechanical brake components – Components and their maintenance.
- Pneumatic brake components – Function and servicing.
- Direct and indirect brakes – Differences and applications.
- Three-pressure system – Structure and control.
- Brake markings – Content and practical implementation.
- Applicable regulations – Standards and requirements for brake systems.
- Different maintenance levels – Requirements and procedures.
- Deadlines and scope of brake revisions 0–3 – Overview and details.
- Brake revision Br0 for mobile maintenance – Special requirements and implementation.
After passing the exam and official designation, participants are authorized to independently perform brake inspections and brake revisions Br 0 to Br 3 on freight wagons.
To deepen the content practically, approximately 40% of the course consists of hands-on training directly on various freight wagons and on disassembled wheelsets or bogies. Theory and practice are ideally combined for maximum learning efficiency and direct applicability in daily work.

Staff who independently carry out Br0 brake inspection on vehicles with conventional braking systems and types - Admission Requirements:
At least 3 months of practical work in the maintenance of braking equipment on rail vehicles or, as an alternative, the Rail Training Event (VRT) 300 approval module and knowledge of the respective national language, spoken and written, to the required extent - Duration:
5 days, 8 learning units of 45 minutes - Participants:
