Partial Training as a Qualified Maintenance Technician for Freight Wagon Brakes III
Safe braking systems are an essential part of reliable railway operations—even for auxiliary vehicles. Our hands-on training provides the necessary expertise to maintain, inspect and repair brakes on auxiliary vehicles in compliance with applicable regulations. The course is aimed at maintenance staff, workshop supervisors and technically skilled professionals who wish to enhance their qualifications in a targeted manner.
Course contents:
- Basics of railway vehicle braking systems
- Structure and function of mechanical and pneumatic components
- Identifying and rectifying common faults and defects
- Performing brake overhauls (levels 0 to 3) in accordance with current regulations
- Introduction to relevant guidelines: VDV 885, 900 0080
- Load-dependent brakes: types and functional principles
The aim of the training is to qualify participants to independently carry out maintenance tasks and overhauls on the braking systems of auxiliary vehicles. Theory and practice are closely linked to ensure optimal preparation for day-to-day operations.
For practical consolidation of the topics, the seminar will include approx. 40% practical training directly on various freight wagons with the corresponding inspection devices.

Staff who independently carry out Br0 brake inspection on vehicles with conventional braking systems and types - Admission Requirements:
At least 3 months of practical work in the maintenance of braking equipment on rail vehicles or, as an alternative, the Rail Training Event (VRT) 300 approval module and knowledge of the respective national language, spoken and written, to the required extent - Duration:
5 days, 8 learning units of 45 minutes - Participants:
