Preparatory Course for Maintenance Technicians on Rail Vehicle Brakese

Do you want to specifically prepare for your tasks as a rail vehicle brake system maintainer? In this preparatory course, you will gain comprehensive knowledge about the design, function, and maintenance of braking systems—with direct practical application on vehicles.

Training contents:

  • Fundamentals of braking technology – Introduction to the structure and function of modern brake systems.
  • Brake types – Comparison of different technical solutions.
  • Wheel and rail brakes – Properties and areas of application.
  • Physical fundamentals – Friction, braking forces, and functional relationships.
  • Mechanical brake components – Design, function, and maintenance.
  • Pneumatic brake components – Control and regulation of braking force.
  • Direct and indirect brakes – Differences and applications.
  • Three-pressure system – Structure and functionality.
  • Brake markings – Content, significance, and practical implementation.
  • Applicable regulations – Relevant standards and technical requirements.

To deepen the topics practically, approximately 40% of the course consists of hands-on training directly on the vehicles. Theory and practice are ideally combined for maximum learning efficiency.
