Training as a Qualified Maintenance Technician for Passenger Carriage Brakes II

Proper maintenance of braking systems is essential for safety in passenger transport. Our training provides in-depth knowledge of the braking technology used in passenger coaches and qualifies participants to professionally handle mechanical and pneumatic brake systems. The course is aimed at maintenance professionals, workshop staff, and technically skilled employees in the railway sector.

  • Fundamentals of brake technology
  • Brake types and designs
  • Wheel and rail brakes
  • Basic physics principles
  • Mechanical brake components
  • Pneumatic brake components
  • Direct and indirect braking
  • The three-pressure system
  • Brake markings
  • Relevant regulations

To deepen the practical understanding, the seminar also includes hands-on training directly on various vehicles or their components. Theory and practice are closely integrated for sustainable and application-oriented qualification.

  • Target Group:
    Staff who are supposed to carry out Br0 and Br1 independent brake inspections on long-distance coaches of the passenger coach type
  • Admission Requirements:
    At least 3 months of practical work in the maintenance of braking equipment on rail vehicles or, as an alternative, the Rail Training Event (VRT) 300 approval module and knowledge of the respective national language, spoken and written, to the required extent
  • Duration:
    5 days, 8 learning units of 45 minutes
  • Participants:
    maximum 5 participants
